(*)que es redshow(*)

redsn0w is a utility to jailbreak iOS devices. It does so by reading the stock firmware that you can download from iTunes or from various locations on the internet (as iTunes will detect and delete old firmwares), and then running a payload directly on the device in the form of a ramdisk. When jailbreaking, the device will also enter into Device Firmware Upgrade mode. It allows users to install Cydia, the popular 3rd party app installer. This allows the user access to tweaks, homebrew applications, and the root directory and file system.

[edit] Compatibility

redsn0w for Windows and Mac is compatible with all devices running iOS versions 3.1.2 and lower (iPod touch 2G with new bootrom can only be tethered jailbroken). The latest unstable release, 0.9.4, features limited compatibility with the 3.1.3 release of the OS. It can only jailbreak the iOS on the iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, the iPod touch 1G, and some iPod touch 2Gs (Model numbers starting with MC cannot be jailbroken under 3.1.3). On Linux, iPhone OS 3.0.1 and below are jailbreakable, It can also jailbreak[1] iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 2G (non-MC model) and 3G(non-MC model) with iOS 4.0.2. A beta version, redsn0w 0.9.6b1, was released on September 21, 2010 to jailbreak iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 2G (non-MC model) and 3G (non-MC model) devices.[2]

[edit] Apple's Response

Apple changed its iPhone Developer License Agreement recently to include "(e)You will not, through use of the Apple Software, services or otherwise, create any Application or other program that would disable, hack or otherwise interfere with the Security Solution, or any security, digital signing, digital rights management, verification or authentication mechanisms implemented in or by the iPhone operating system software, iPod touch operating system software, this Apple Software, any services or other Apple software or technology, or enable others to do so..."[3]
